³⁹ It came about that at the end of three years, two servants of Shimei ran away to Achish son of Maakah king of Gath. And they told Shimei, saying, “Your servants are in Gath.” ⁴⁰ Shimei arose, saddled his donkey, and went to Gath to Achish to look for his servants. And Shimei went and brought his servants from Gath.

⁴¹ Solomon was told that Shimei had gone from Jerusalem to Gath and had returned.
